Who we are:
Maidstone PC Repairs was founded in 2006 with the name JLM Network Services and is headed up by me, James McNicol. I have many years' experience of dealing with all aspects of IT, from basic PC support to complex network configuration in a bluechip company, all backed up with an Honours Degree in Computer Information Systems Design. We changed our name to Maidstone PC Repairs in January 2018.

We want to ensure your equipment runs smoothly and that any problems are resolved as quickly as possible.
We can advise on all aspects of PC and network issues.
Running out of hard disk space? PC running slowly? Problems setting up your wireless network? We can help - no problem too simple or complex!
We come out to you and carry out repairs at your home or place of work.
Normally we will carry out the work at your home or business unless the repair is going to be lengthy such as reinstalling the operating system or recovering data. This way you get to see what we are doing and it keeps your costs down.

We keep our costs as low as possible to ensure you don’t get a nasty surprise when the work is completed. We'll diagnose the fault and give you a price before commencing the repairs with your agreement.

We contacted James to install new SSD on to mine and my partners computer with windows 11.
He got it all done same day, with no issue and it was all extremely well priced.
We reached out to laptop doctors first who asked for more than double that James asked for !!!

James was an absolute legend (the repair guy, not me).
He was able to replace my CPU heat sync, secure some loose hard drives and give the whole system a clean and health check, all in the same day. I had my PC back and fully functional again by late that afternoon. He kept me up to date on everything he was doing, plus answered some questions I had.
Would highly recommend, and will certainly go back to him again in future

My laptop was displaying a message that the fan wasn't operating correctly and I also suspected that the battery needed replacing. I had a quick response from my initial contact with James and dropped it off the next day. It was repaired by the end of the following day. It's working fine and so much quieter so maybe the fan had been deteriorating for a while. A happy customer!

Can't recommend James highly enough. Messaged him late on a Tuesday evening in a panic with a broken screen. Wasn't expecting him to reply at that time but he did ! Dropped my laptop off to him Wednesday morning and picked it back up all fixed at 5pm on the Thursday. Great service. Thanks James.

Knowledgeable, very thorough in dealing with a problem and most importantly very kind. Helped me out in an ungodly hour when i reached out with something that left a dozen other repairmen baffled. I needed further help with a cable and he was happy to assist with that as well, going above and beyond what anyone else would do. If you need help with anything that could remotely be considered technological, please knock on his door.

James was very quick to pick up my email and respond with a convenient time to come and help. He then contacted again when there was an earlier slot in case I wanted it. He arrived on time, was very polite and made every effort to resolve my issue and even spent time assisting me in looking online for additional products that I needed for my IT kit. Very good service. Competitive price too. Will use again for future IT needs.

James was recommended by a friend when an installation on my laptop went wrong. He came the next morning and immediately solved the problem. He was very efficient and did a maintenance check while he was here. He quickly realised that I knew very little about computers but didn't in any way make me feel inadequate! A big plus for me. I would certainly use him again.
